Hijri date today
19 Jumada I 1448 AH, which is Friday, October 30, 2026.
This uses the Umm al-Qura calendar, Saudi Arabia's calculated calendar. Countries and mosques that begin each month by sighting the moon can be a day apart, and the Islamic day begins at sunset, not midnight.
The twelve Hijri months
- Muharram
- Safar
- Rabi al-Awwal
- Rabi al-Thani
- Jumada al-Awwal
- Jumada al-Thani
- Rajab
- Sha'ban
- Ramadan
- Shawwal
- Dhu al-Qa'dah
- Dhu al-Hijjah
A Hijri year is 354 or 355 days, about 11 days shorter than a solar year. That is why Ramadan moves earlier each year and passes through every season over about 33 years.
