Asr time today

Asr, the afternoon prayer, begins when an object's shadow reaches a set length and continues until sunset.

Why Asr times vary

Schools differ on that length. Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali scholars count one shadow-length plus the noon shadow; the Hanafi school counts two. Hanafi Asr is therefore later, often by about an hour, and more in summer at northern latitudes.

City pages show both. Choose your school in the Asr setting and the timetable updates.
